“Win a family trip to Hollywood”: Del Monte® international contest

Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands are the countries involved in the sweepstake

Del Monte® has launched “Win a family trip to Hollywood”, an international sweepstake,  inspired by the TV series “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight”, broadcast on Netflix.

The prize-competition, which took place from 15 November 2022 to 28 February 2023, was aimed at consumers in Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

How could you participate in the Del Monte® international sweepstake?

To participate in the sweepstake, you had to answer a quiz consisting of 4 questions related to the plot and characters of the TV series and the Del Monte® brand.

It was possible to participate in two ways: by scanning with your own device the QR code printed on the Del Monte® fresh fruit product promoted or by connecting directly to the initiative website www.freshdelmontefun.com.

The prize at stake: a trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood

By registering and answering the quiz questions you obtained the right to participate in the final draw of a trip for 4 people to Universal Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The trip included flight, three-night hotel stay and a two-day entrance ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood for the winner and 3 companions.

How to organise an international sweepstake

The Del Monte® sweepstake was aimed at several European countries, each with its own legislation on promotional activities.

To organise a prize-draw or a contest abroad, it is necessary to consider the specifics of each country involved, starting from checking that the mechanism we want to use is legal or not and not subject to any limits or constraints.

Limits and regulatory constraints for sweepstakes abroad

In the case of the sweepstakes organised by Del Monte®, for example, in the Netherlands there are constraints on the total prize pool that the promoter can put up in a competition governed by chance, an important aspect to be considered in planning its promotional activities in this country.

Knowing the regulations of the countries involved in detail is essential to organising an international contest or sweepstakes.
